Cartonomy is a retail platform that makes online shopping carts shareable with friends, family, and co-workers. It combines sharing functionality and purchasing capability to create community-inspired social retail experiences for home, work, and life. It helps consumers collaborate with the people they make purchases for, tackle shopping as a group, and check out at their favourite retailers — all through one shared shopping cart.
Genix Solutions was selected as a technical solution provider and software development company for this start-up. Our team started project development from scratch: beginning with the design of the system architecture and the selection of technical tools, libraries and frameworks, and ending with the coding of the platform’s features. From a technical point of view, we were left with a range of interesting and challenging tasks, especially in connection to integration with big retailers such as BestBuy, Walmart, Sears and Drag Store; these tasks included the implementation of product synchronisation functions, product price comparison among retailers, as well as an easy goods search feature in a common database of millions of products.
As a result, we obtained a retail platform with a large set of functions that intends to answer the demand for a smarter, hassle-free approach to group shopping online. The system is currently operating in production mode.
